Brief Career synopsis:
I got my first part time job during college and have worked for that company in some capacity ever since. From part time to overnights to producing a morning show and finally hosting one.

1) What made you want to do this for a living?
I’ve always wanted to entertain.

2) As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
No lie a stand-up comedian (The one and only time I've ever tried was horrifying)

3) What is the biggest challenge facing your industry?
Apathy to adaptability. Hot young talent is finding their platform all over the internet and not looking to traditional mediums to begin broadcast careers.

4)  5 WORDS OR LESS - What is the most brutal part of your job?
 Prep (Never all gets used)

5) 5 WORDS OR LESS - What is the best part of your job?
Freedom

6) What is the biggest misconception about your job?
That somehow my position offers me all access to anything I want. I’m just some dumb schlub that talks for money. I’m not a rockstar!

7) Fill in the blank ...“The problem with newbies is they don’t know how…
to reverse engineer a solution. There are going to be TONS of problems that are going to come up during live broadcasts. Being able to figure out where in the chain of things the problem lies and rooting it out can be as simple as knowing how it’s supposed to work and then checking the things that make that possible until you find the cause. Too often they panic and expect someone else to fix it for them. The more you know about how the station operates the better off you’ll be.

8) What industry related skill/software do you wish you knew more about?
ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS!!!!!!!!!! Really any and all photo/video editing software. The time when all you needed to know was Audition is over. You might be on the radio but now you also have to be a multi-media broadcaster. Being able to capture and edit your own photo and video is invaluable to your career.
